Flight I Am Just Junco Dot Com Book Three J A Huss Books
Another amazing Junco thriller from JA Huss. Never lets me down when I want a gut wrenching, mind bending, life altering read. This book continues from the last one, named Fledge, and follows our heroine Junco as she continues on her journey to find the seven siblings back on earth. Leaving the habitat of Amelia, she and her team along with their leader and her lover Tier return to earth to finish the job they're supposed to do to save the genetics of the Avian race or destroy it...Junco wishes she knew. So do I. Poor Junco is still in the dark half the time, but in this book, the memories come crashing back in.There's no lack of action, suspense, visually stunning scenes and of course, the hunks all around Miss Junco. How she doesn't lose her mind surrounded by so much testosterone, I think she even wonders that. Heading through a mountainous pass to get to where the Goddess Inanna is and four other siblings of Junco's `clutch' are. They endure crazed clones, weird experiments and ultimately a fight for survival. It left me exhausted and fearing for Junco at every turn. Warning: there are several key characters killed in this one and it damn near broke my heart! No more please!!!
I loved this one on the emotional sense that we get a lot of flashbacks of Junco's life growing up. Especially beside a soldier named Gideon. Oh my goodness, I loved Gideon's scenes. He just melts your heart on how much he cares about Junco. But there is Tier too, who loves her just as much in his own way, but his duty to the missions they have seem to outrank his dedication to Junco.
We do see another side of Lucan, which was somewhat confusing, especially when he turns into something else. Scary!! In the end, I think he's just another man biding for Junco's heart and it sure has me undecided on who she should end up with when everything wraps up at the end of this book. Man I have no idea what man I'd choose, though I don't think Junco has a clue either.
A fantastical continuation of the Junco series that doesn't let down but pulls the reader further and further into the trap of Junco's messed up existence enough that you wouldn't dare miss the next installment. I can't wait!

Flight I Am Just Junco Dot Com Book Three J A Huss Books Reviews
Wasn't sure I was going to be into this storyline. But the characters and the authors writing are great. I couldn't put it down and immediately had to get the next book in the series. The author never lost her flow or changed her style. I blew through this series. Great twists and turns. I loved all the characters.
Flight continues the story of Junco, along with her human 'family' and her Avian friends and love interest. Ms. Huss excels at making the characters come alive and leap off the page to drag you straight back into the action of the story, making you feel as if you are actually there and experiencing everything right along with Junco and not just reading about it after the fact.
Her story line still follows a fairly smooth trajectory, so that there aren't periods of 'down time' that drag on and on in-between periods of intense action. The physical action and the mental unraveling and discovery march along hand-in-hand, keeping a delicate balance without ever really tipping too far in one direction or the other.
And as much as I am loving this series, I am getting the first tingles of, well, frustration. Junco seems to have stopped growing emotionally. Granted she has more crap to deal with than any one being should ever have to handle, but she needs to stop with the pattern she seems to be getting stuck in and move forward more. She has so much potential, but it is starting to feel like she is in a holding pattern, which in turn places everyone else into a holding pattern. But again, this is just the first tingle of that feeling, so I am hoping that in "Range" this lack of emotional growth will be a thing of the past.
And it's all been leading up to this! This is what Junco's been trained for - to extract her six siblings so they can save the avians and to set the prophecy in motion. But this is Junco - and nothing goes according to plan. Flight is another tension-filled, action-packed thrill ride of a read!
Before the Aves can start the mission, Junco must endure a twine with Isten. As a side note - I love that we get to know secondary characters so well and that it's a different one in each book. - Anyway, Junco agrees to the twine and this enables both she and Isten to perform in battle at an even higher level and it links them indelibly.
Once the mission is in play and the team is on Earth again, Junco must, once again, decide who she can and can't trust. She is reunited with her mother and father, and a childhood friend whom she has lost memories of.
Not only does Junco have to deal with or avoid the political machinations of her parents but she has to convince the Six Siblings to come with the team back to The Band. And thereby, trigger the prophecy. All before the nuclear reactor powering the Mountain Republic blows!
However, Junco is faced with some startling revelations during her escape attempt. Some of these revelations have me realizing there is so much more going on here that I realized. Junco does have a destiny to fulfill. And a choice to make.
"Yeah, well, I know for a fact I won't die here, Gideon. I've got a destiny and it isn't to be slashed to pieces by my brother's clones. So, yeah, I'm good with this, let's go."
-Junco to Gideon
With each book in this series, Ms. Huss provides us with answers to questions posed in previous books. But she also leaves us with new unanswered ones and Flight is no exception. At the end, I was gasping and saying "Wait. What?!?"
In Flight, I delighted in another tightly written, pulse-pounding story. Junco's world is just as gritty and violent as ever, but Ms. Huss' description of it and the action that occurs is brilliant! I'm ever so pleased to be on this journey with Junco. I find I identify with her wanting to believe in people - even though she has no reason to.
"You're too trusting, for all the s***you've been through, you are way too trusting. Sera was right. You want to believe so bad. But don't. Don't believe anyone."
-Gideon to Junco
I can't get enough of Junco!
