Finding the body of her ex-husband in the trunk of her car is a little shocking. Finding out that she is the number one suspect for his murder is disturbing. It's almost more than a middle-aged, mother of two can cope with. Carly soon decides that she owes it to her kids to figure out who deprived them of a father. Finding love along the way, well that's just an added bonus.

I must agree with the previous two reviews - it was a terrific read. I couldn't put it down, and it's been a long time since I could say that about a book. I think what I liked best about this book was that the characters were so realistic. Take best-selling authors like Lee Child, Michael Connelly, and Patricia Cornwell. Their protagonists are totally unbelievable characters - they are always experts in their field - the best shot, the best fighter, a weapons expert, know several foreign languages, etc. Their books are a good read but you know in the back of your mind that nobody is THAT accomplished. Carly, on the other hand, was somebody you could totally identify with, a real down-to-earth ordinary person. The plot was well thought out and at no time did this author rely on incredible coincidences to make the plot work. I would not have guessed that this was a first novel - I look forward to reading more by this author.

Great story line. I highly recommend this book.
This is a fantastic novel. I don't even read murder mysteries often but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. The great part is that when you've finished this book and wish you could read on about the characters you've come to love..you can!...in "Missing My Mark" the second book in this series. I recommend buying them together because I'm certain you'll want to get right into the second one when you've finished the first. Enjoy!
I bought this book because the thought of finding your ex-husband dead in the trunk of your car intrigued me. I did not expect the humor that is found almost on every page. The writing moves along and keeps you interested. The characters are people that you want to be friends with in real life. I look forward to more adventures with Ms. Kitchings!
I gave this book a 4 star rating because the storyline kept me interested it would happen next. I would recommend it to anyone who likes murder mysteries.
I love the ramblings of Carly- it is so real and funny and accurate. The story is good all right with enough twists and turns to help you to keep you wanting to read more
You just have to read "Dealing With Tomorrow". If you're a fan of mysteries and thrillers, don't pass this one by. The characters, especially the heroine Carly, are not your average cookie-cutter players, these characters become people you want to know, you care about what happens to them. I couldn't put this book down, and could have gone back and read it again with just as much enjoyment. If you feel like giving yourself a treat. this is the book for you! You will come away from the experience feeling both satisfied and craving more, and you can't get much better than that.
This is a cracking good read - a fine page turner. The reader really gets to know Carly Kitchings as the story is told from her perspective. She feels like a friend you would like all for yourself.

I usually manage to see the ending of a thriller coming fairly early in the book, but this one took me by surprise and I was hooked until the end. I sincerely hope this is the first in what promises to be a very good mystery series.
